Here's what the hub patterns look like when overlayed. The solid circles are the existing 5x100 pattern. The dotted lines are possible other patterns.

damn - you might actually take this **** even further than I do normally - haha - props.

having said that, whenever I come across a situation like this and spend tons time trying to defy common wisdom, I usually find that pushing as hard as I do to make something work like this usually ends in the same way... sure, I can make it work, sure it becomes a challenge to make it work, but in the end, is it really worth it?

I usually step back and find an alternative solution that has been previously tested and proven to work/be safe.

Take a step back, let it sit on the back burner for a bit and see if maybe an alternate solution will present itself.

I know that when I desperately wanted the TSW 9" hocks on our track rado I was willing to do anything to make it happen, redrill, adapters, etc... whatever it took. I even found a source that had an entire shipment of UNDRILLED hocks waiting to be drilled with any pattern. I eventually came to my senses and found a much lighter, more appropriate wheel for track events.

Haha - I know exactly what you mean. My plans start out with outrageous goals and I throttle way back by the time I actually get around to building whatever it is. This is one area that I would really like to make work, however.

I know the logical answer is to just slap on 15x9s and run the 225s that are available or 275s, if I have the $$$ at the time. With a 17" OD & 9.5" width, the tire options are awesome. I could use take-off 245s from the local auto-x STU crowd, which equates to really nice, lightly used and shaved tires for about $75 to $100 per set. Or, I could fit 255/40/17s or even 275/40/17s (if I can generate the heat needed to utilize them to their fullest). I've never seen a Corrado sporting a set of 255s, let alone 275s, so it'd be fun to push the envelope a little.

I'm so far away from having to commit to anything, it's not even funny - plenty of time to simplify my plans. Though, my buddies keep putting fresh ideas into my head (AWD seems to be a consistent request). One of these I'll update my build thread.

Well... I usually try and start using standard items - but what I think should be available (they used to have those) never seems to be (especially when dealing with hardware stores). Or I actually try and repair something (gast) instead of just replacing it (usually due to a broken switch, or whatever). So then I have to come up with my own solutions and make it myself. Very frustrating! And yes I'm very green - since I'm also rather cheap (why buy new when you can fix?)

Such as what just happened. I had made two brackets to go on the bottom of the 1.8T ECU to allow it to slide into the old G60 ECU slot. To make it work, I used metric standoffs (I of course had to order from McMaster) in place of the ECU screws to attach to the brackets.

So I took out the ECU out last week to send to APR for an upgrade. I left three of the standoffs on it not thinking much of it. Of course it came back with three new screws instead (I'm sure they thought they were helping me out)! So now I either have to mount it different, or order 3 stupid standoffs - again - because of course no one carries anything like that around here! So much for the track day tomorrow.
